Wildlife Program for the very young (Pre-K).  During the 1 1/2 hour wildlife program, children are introduced to the concept of habitats, and particular emphasis is placed on NOT handling wildlife without adult assistance.  The Flighted Raptor Program is NOT a part of this field trip due to the students’ short attention spans and the potential for safety hazards.  A visit to the Center's Gift Shop is also NOT a scheduled venue of this field trip, although groups are welcome to shop before or after their program.  Gift bags are a great alternative to a visit to the gift shop.  Advance notice is required and you can choose the items to include in the bags, as well as the dollar amount you want to spend on each.  Lunch may be scheduled by reserving the Ecology Pavilion for a picnic.  The cost of the Fledglings' field trip is $2.50 per attendee, including teachers, chaperones and parents.

NATIVE HABITATS AND WILDLIFE:   (grades K-12)
Up to 120 students
Program Time:  2.5  – 3 hours
(Please print, complete and fax the completed registration form to the Center for Wildlife Education at 912-871-1779).

This is considered our standard and most popular field trip.  Groups visit four venues (Habitat Walkway, Down-to-Earth Encounter, Lecture Hall, and Gift Shop) in two hours, and then enjoy the 30 – 45 minute Flighted Raptor Demonstration in the Center's amphitheater.  This tour is an excellent introduction to the habitats and wildlife of our region and is an interactive tour with considerable time spent handling wildlife.  Lunch may be scheduled by reserving the Ecology Pavilion for a picnic. The cost of the Native Habitats and Wildlife field trip is $5 per attendee, including teachers, chaperones and parents.
