Field Trips
General Information About Field Trips
All field trip programs are by reservation only. Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for outdoor experiences. Indoor accommodations MAY be available in the event of inclement weather during your field trip. Restrooms, water fountains, and a soft drink machine are available on site. Picnics & bag lunches are welcome, but the Ecology Pavilion must be reserved for your lunch group.
Most importantly, please be punctual! We want your students to enjoy their field trip to the Center for Wildlife Education, and we want them to experience everything possible while they're here. If you are late it may be necessary to eliminate a rotation or shorten the time of your field trip to accommodate your trip back to school.
All of our programs do reflect the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) for each grade level. The Common Core GPS has also been included for math. Specific or a combination of modules can be selected for your field trip. Please see the standards below:

The Fledglings' field trip Program is designed for the very young (Pre-K). Three, 20 minute rotations are included in this field trip - Down to Earth, Wildlife Program, and Raptor Walkway. The Flight Show is NOT a part of this field trip due to the students' short attention spans and the potential for safety hazards. A visit to the Center's Gift Shop is also NOT a scheduled venue of this field trip, although groups are welcome to shop before or after their program. Gift bags are a great alternative to a visit to the gift shop. Advance notice is required and you can choose the items to include in the bags, as well as the dollar amount you want to spend for each. Lunch may be scheduled by reserving the Ecology Pavilion for a picnic. The cost of the Fledglings' field trip is $2.50 per attendee, including teachers, parents and chaperones. Bus drivers are not charged.
