Holiday Saftey Tips

Don't fall victim to theft this year. Keep yourself and your room safe with these safety tips:
  1. Don't leave your valuables unattended - While studying for finals, don't leave your books, laptop, cellphone, or anything else of value unattended, even for a moment.
  2. Use the Escort Service - If you are on campus durning the holiday season, be sure and use the Escort Service.
  3. Lock your car doors - If you are leaving your vehical on campus, make sure to lock your doors and do not leave valuables in view.
  4. Lock your room doors and windows
  5. Take your valubles with you - Do not leave your wallet, laptop, or other valuables in your room.
  6. Report suspicious situations to GSU Police

Student Population: 16,841
Statesboro, Georgia, is home to Georgia Southern University, one of the safest schools in the country, and hosts a 2.2 million-square-foot Wal-Mart distribution center, the largest in the world. Putting big savings aside for a moment, the school did well on the most serious types of crime, but reported 17 burglaries, three robberies and one arson for 2006 and 2007 on campus. Crime in the campus vicinity and at non-campus buildings was low.

Our goal is to enhance the quality of life of the University by providing a safe and secure campus through professional service and proactive crime prevention, and to create an environment where students, faculty, staff and visitors can conduct their daily business without the threat of physical or psychological harm.
