| The Annual Fund helps provide support
for scholarships, lectureships, student and teacher
recruitment activities, cultural outreach programs,
special faculty or campus projects, and departmental
requests throughout the year. Though many Annual Fund
donations are restricted to a specific scholarship,
department or endowment, unrestricted donations
provide needed funding for identified university
priorities. In effect, this valuable funding narrows
the gap between the cost of providing an education of
excellence and state assistance. |
A Day For Southern
The annual campaign takes place in Statesboro-Bulloch
County, home of Georgia Southern University. More than
1,300 local businesses are asked by over 200
volunteers to support Georgia Southern. For seven
consecutive years, the A Day for Southern campaign has
successfully raised over $1 million in one day. Learn
more about A Day For Southern.

A Day
For Southern On Campus
All faculty and staff are given an opportunity to
contribute and volunteer for the A Day For Southern On
Campus campaign. This campaign takes place in the fall shortly after the academic year begins. Totals for the on-campus campaign are announced at the kick off breakfast of the community campaign. The two challenge and support each other. Learn more about A Day For
Southern On Campus.

Phon-a-thon
The Phon-a-thon is a telephone solicitation campaign
which extends throughout the academic year. Student
employees call parents of students at Georgia
Southern, and Georgia Southern alumni. During the
2003-2004 school year, callers placed calls to more
than 40,000 prospective donors. Learn
more about the Phon-a-thon.

Matching gifts
Many companies offer programs which match qualified
charitable gifts by their employees. These matching
gift programs can maximize the impact of charitable
giving by Georgia Southern supporters.
